Tool guide
How to use Screenshot & image redactor
Use permanent solid covers for private information and inspect the exported image before sharing.
- Choose, drop or paste a still JPG, PNG or WebP, then choose Open image. File selection alone does not read it.
- Drag a rectangle on the image, or enter its exact source-pixel coordinates and choose Add region. Solid cover replaces the selected pixels. Pixelation and blur are visual effects, not secure removal.
- Review every region. Optional text is an annotation, not a redaction. Padding uses the chosen background color. Undo and Clear affect this page only.
- Choose Download image or Copy PNG. Exports contain flattened pixels with no editable region history or original file attachment. Supported source metadata is discarded. Independently review the downloaded image before sharing.
- Free: one 100 MiB / 24-megapixel image; Pro: 500 MiB / 48 megapixels. At most 100 regions, 16,384 pixels per side and a bounded total effect area. Working input/results stay in memory and clear on leaving; downloaded files remain on your device.
Common questions
Does blur securely remove a secret?
Use a fully opaque solid cover for secrets. Blur and pixelation only alter appearance and can leave information inferable.
